OUR MATERIALS

Do you ever wonder what your piece is made of?

Our jewels are made by hand, and we are very careful with the materials we use. All our pieces undergo an anti-allergic treatment, and are made of sterling silver, brass and tin. Plated with 18-carat gold or with 10 microns of silver.

STERLING SILVER 925

Sterling silver 925 is an alloy composed of 92.5 % pure silver and 7.5 % copper.

Our silver jewels are plated with rhodium, giving them a shine and additional durability. Rhodium is one of the costliest precious metals due to its rarity. All our sterling silver pieces are stamped “925”.

BRASS

Brass is a copper and zinc alloy with a golden colour. All our brass pieces are plated with 18kt gold.

TIN

Tin is a white-coloured metal alloy. All our brass pieces are plated with 18kt gold or 10 microns of silver.

GOLD PLATING

Not to be confused with regular gold plating, our 18k gold plating is a thick layer of solid 18-carat gold, meaning that it will last longer, and looks like a solid gold jewel. First, it is plated with 18kt, and the last layer is 24kt. The gold used in the plating process of our articles is 100% recycled!

SILVER PLATING

Pieces plated in sterling silver tend to go dark with time; therefore, all our silver-plated jewels are protected with a solution against wear. However, this can also wear off in time.

FRESHWATER PEARLS

We use our pearls obtained from cultivated freshwater oysters and mussels that we select carefully for our pieces.

NATURAL GEMS

All our gems are natural and highly appreciated for their beauty, longevity and rarity.

ENAMEL

Enamelling is a technique in which a shiny substance is applied, traditionally a type of glass, to a metal or other hard surface. Traditional enamel is glass-based; however, we can use cold enamel, also known as epoxy enamel, which contains no glass. This type is much longer-lasting and tougher against shattering, which can sometimes occur in everyday use.

CERAMIC

Ceramic is an extremely durable material made with a mixture of clays, earths, powder and water, giving it the desired shape. Our ceramics are covered and/or protected with an impermeable substance similar to paint known as enamel.

GLASS / CRYSTAL

Glass is a delicate material with a wide variety of colours and is very versatile. It has been used in jewellery since ancient times. We use two types of glass in a traditional manner: Murano glass (Originally from Italy) and Czech (originally from Bohemia).
